• August 2, 2014 Denver, CO: BJ Verkler and the Weekend Warriors  team wins the Madcap Racing Engines Fast 16 race at Bandimere Speedway. After struggling for traction during qualifying, the team was able to sort out their issues to make their typical low 6 second runs. BJ benefited from two early round red lights by his opponents, but had to earn the win in the semifinal round with a quick .009 reaction time. On the other side of the ladder, Mike Candelairo, the other Weekend Warriors team car earned his way into the final as well. In the all team final, both drivers had excellent reaction times, with Candelairo pulling out a slight .011 to .014 advantage. Candelairo could not hold that advantage, as his dragster slowed to a 6.341 on a 6.25 dial, while Verkler sailed to a 6.172 on his 6.15 dial, collecting the win. The team thanks their sponsors, DR Auto and Knowles Enterprises, for their support.
